Welcome
Welcome to Miss Nancy's art room where you can sit a while and take it all in, browse the creative ideas designed to share or pop in now and then to add an idea of your own. This is a place for Elementary school teachers and students alike who share the same passion: the love of creating. Hopefully, you will leave here with inspirational ideas just bursting from your fingertips, ready to create your own next masterpiece.

This website has many things to offer. Take a peek at these pages:
All About Me:
Let's get to know each other a little better. This is where I give some background to my winding path that led me here.
Favorites:
Here's a page that began as an experiment in teamwork, where I put together an example of some of my favourite things along with my lab partners, Adam and Diana.
Classroom Set Up:
Where to put all those beautiful creations? This can be a challenge but get some ideas on this page for displaying students' artwork throughout the class and even throughout the school.
Art For Cycle 2:
Teachers sharing with other teachers: one of my favourite things about this profession. Here is a page stuffed with ideas for lesson plans, art projects and much, much more, all inspired by some of my most influential teacher bloggers, friends, fellow artists and children's authors.
Bulletin Board:
Let 'em shine! Here are some examples of students' work on display. Let this give you ideas on how you, too, can display your students' artwork digitally on your school's website for parents and students to enjoy.
Recommended Reading:
Every teacher needs a book shelf full of resources and the art section of your classroom is no exception. I'm always on the look out for How-To books that will inspire me with that next great idea. Also, children's books are another good source to demonstrate to the students an interesting technique that they could try to reproduce. Here, I list some of my can't-live-without books.
Helpful Resources:
Teacher blogs, YouTube instructional videos, Museums, Art History for kids and so much more can be found here. This is a guide for both students and teachers with an endless stream of instructional guides, How-To information, historical background and beyond. More is being added all the time and visitors of this site share their tips. Keep in touch for the latest updates!
More pages are being added all the time. Stay tuned!
